The Happy Methology

Hello, everyone. Welcome to Fun Day Sunday. It’s blogging time again!

I guess most of you are home and resting or spending time with your loved ones. I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend so far.

So, I wrote recently on happiness versus contentment, and if both were actually one and the same. Today, I’m blogging on happiness and where it begins and ends with me in comparison with others. https://ap24hours.online/2023/05/04/happy-verses-content/ You can check out this link to see my post.

Happiness is in the eyes of the beholder, even love, even contentment. Everyone has their own reason for love and happiness. Happiness is a feel-good process. You laugh, you have fun, you are at the peak of your enjoyment. In contentment, I believe, is to settle with what you have and enjoy it. Are you happy then? Maybe not. It’s a settlement. Happiness can be broken. So is contentment. One is always looking for better when the well dries up. When the honeymoon is over as the saying goes. Were you really happy then? Maybe in your mind and at the moment. How can happy be happy if suddenly you became unhappy?

Happiness is “many things to different people,” but that happiness can be broken by other negative factors. The loss of a friend or a loved one. A job loss. Health issues. Relationship issues. The list can go on and on since we are living in a world that can be negative in nature. So we talk about unconditional love. What about unconditional happiness. You be happy no matter what? Is that ever possible? Humans are humans. Some may appear happy until their true colors surfaced. The sad ones are now happy, and many will think that this is life changing from bad to good. In both cases, is this true happiness? Why is this camelion effect? A switch to turn this off and on. I say this is a temporary feeling from the beginning. A spur of the moment.

I had the dubious opportunity to have a coworker who hated my guts when he was sober and loved and respected me when he was intoxicated. Happiness can be miraged by drugs or alcohol abuse as well, I noticed. Is this true happiness. I believe. Not. A sad person can not immediately become happy, and a happy person just can not become sad at the flick of a dime. Or is it that flicker that can set the flame in us being humans with human intententions. Bipolar effect? Mental disorder can also be a factor.

Is there a fine line between being happy and unhappy? Yes. I believe. It is a decision to make in everyone. You can make a choice. The guarantee in this life is that the negative source around us can drive us from happy to unhappy in an instant. And there are more negative than positive energy around us. Say, for instance, where you live or work. Your working or living conditions could be poor or unhealthy. The crime rate could even be a factor. Again, some will settle(contentment) and learn to adopt, while others may not be so willing to settle or adopt and move away. Moving away may take some time at times, but can this turn you into an unhappy person if deep down you had “unconditional happiness?”(true happiness) I don’t think so. Being happy unconditionally is a process. It is a decision based on who and what you are as a person based on your decisions to change to being happy and always.

Again, we should seek happiness from within, not from without. In other words, things or circumstances should not be the source of our happiness since these things will cease from us as time goes by to ghastly proportion. The only thing that remains at the end is YOU. You are always the one to remain behind holding the bag when the smoke clears. I call this the “Spiritual Effect” where your true happiness lies in you and not on your worldly attributes.

I decided to be happy and not base my happiness on being content. I do not base my happiness on what I achieve. I achieve because I am happy. I’m writing this blog without being scripted without advance preparation because I can since being happy enables me to do the things that I feel good in doing, and so can you.
