Happy Friday, everyone. Welcome again to my blog.
I’ve now placed myself full time on the scale of investing. Let me start by saying that investing is not fun. It is not glamorous. It is boring yet rewarding. Not everyone in this world loves to see their money in the red. I’m in this for the red and green. I’m in this for the long and boring haul. News Flash: Investing can be fun again. How? …let’s pause here for a little while.

My humble beginnings
Let me share for the umpteenth time my humble beginnings in investing. In my quest to start my own business, I stumbled upon an investing magazine in a newsstand. From the beginning, I slept on and dreamed about something better to do than just working on a job. Days or weeks after, I got this magazine and signed up with the group running this magazine. I learned to analyze stocks and to find the best fit for my investing needs. Things went great from there. I invested in stocks and to this day. ETFs and bonds came afterward. I founded my own group. Started an LLC and held on for a few years. I earned as I learned and taught my group. Before that, I volunteered with my local chapter to learn and to share my insights with others in the group. Sad to see my business die. Life happened. People lose their jobs. Family emergencies arise. I survived. Enough said.

Cryptocurrency investing came soon afterward. This was an accident. Well, sort of. I was given an option to take payment in cash, bitcoins, or other payments while working from an online platform. Out of boredom for the usual, I chose bitcoins. The new Era started. Investing in other cryptocurrencies came soon after. Bought. Sold. Trips and spending followed. Then came pause.
Currently
Here is the reason why I made my investing fun and with a more than stellar comeback. Rewards. Yes. I reward myself with cryptocurrencies or cash investments each time I reached a milestone. Stocks soon to follow. Having fun in investing takes the boredom out of it. I used to get free stocks for just showing up and claiming it. I am no longer in that program today. I create my own rewards at the moment to have fun and invest at the same time.
Another way I have fun in investing is to invest regularly. I can do this once a week. Build a portfolio of good stocks and cryptocurrencies and invest regularly with the same amount of money each time. This is called Dollar Cost Averaging, which I learned from my earlier investing days.
Make it fun
Don’t forget that your time is an investment. Mine as well. I do get tired sometimes; and when I get tired, nothing is fun anymore. Resting well really helps. I have nap time, and I have bedtime. There is no fun when you are online and mentally tired. Fuelling up helps. Food is energy. There is no fun when you are hungry and online. Another thing. Set daily, weekly, and monthly goals. When you have something daily to shoot for, the more fun it will be.
The end results after working on non investing platforms are that whatever money I make will end up eventually in stocks or cryptocurrency investment. Investing is the fruit of my labor. It doesn’t require much of my time and effort as in other platforms, but for the passive ones I mentioned last week. The fun is picking the right equities and watching them grow over time. There is fun in that. Set your routine. Get your plan in motion. Build wealth.
