It’s blogging time once again!
In this television commercial spot, folks are mystified with a question. “Let’s ask AI.” Allen Iverson of basketball fame and otherwise known as “AI” appeared. This is a funny spot to get some laughs. ha,ha. In the real world, no one will be calling on Allen Iverson. Nor, will they be calling on me “Ai,” which are the first two letters of my first name. Ok. “So, will the real AI please stand up!” We are talking about artificial intelligence.
If you are not familiar with artificial intelligence. You will be real soon. I did mention in my blog about bots or robots in the past. But, this technology is at a higher level of advancement since. Siri and all the information given toys we once had have given birth to a higher intelligence and place it right smack into our lives, and it is here to stay.
The “chat bots” are beginning to be more human in nature. In another television commercial spot, one customer(actor) interaced with an AI chat bot and stated that they are sounding more human these days. The chat bot replied back with….how do I know you are not a robot. “How can I prove that I’m not?” the actor replied. Seriously, these AI’s are mimicking human behavior and making it hard for one to tell who’s real or imagined.
So, my first encounter with the “machines” was at my go-to fast food restaurant. It was customary for me to walk in and order my food at the counter. How long have I been away from this restaurant? It seemed like years ago. As soon as I walked in, I was summoned to order my food from a kiosk, which was odd. I didn’t know they had kioses. The last time I was there, maybe some weeks ago, there were no kiosks seen. It took me some time to figure out how to oder from these machines.
And, wow. Today, these “machines” are so advanced and user-friendly so that even “a child” can use them.
Bitcoin was not so popular or if ever known when I first started investing in it. Years later, I stumbled upon a bitcoin atm. I thought that this was a joke at first, but after that, I saw a few more of these machines in prominent stores during my travels. I have never used Bitcoin atms. I don’t have a need for them now, which doesn’t mean that I won’t have a need for them in the future.
So, Microsoft Bing has a new chatbot. They call this one: “Chat with AI & GPT-4.” With this bot, you can get straight answers to your searches instead of the endless links. You can create images, itineraries, compose rap lyrics and poems, and more. Just ask the AI. If you ask me what this all means, I really don’t have a clue what they are talking about here. Listen, just ask AI. Maybe their AI can help me write my blog next time.
As I’m writing this, I heard an ad over my online music station. “Fargo, what’s my…?” “Fargo, turn off my account.” That is actually you talking to the Wells Fargo virtual assistance and getting assistance right smack in the comfort of your homes.
Talking about homes. AI has been doing home chores since Rumba has been cleaning under your dinner tables. Maybe Rumba can now teach you how to actually dance the rhumba while taking a break from cleaning. This AI technology is just the beginning to having your own personal robot assistance. “Go, go, Jetsons.”
I failed to mention Copilot, just that I wasn’t interested in it until it asked me this question. Yes, It talked to me [Copilot is part of Microsoft AI assist technology] I did a search, and Copliot asked me if I needed it to summarize what I just searched for. Sure. I replied. Next, a well written out answer to my question was “typed” out before me. With origins and all the things I didn’t care to know about my search. Here’s one for the records: The term “rhumba” gained popularity in the early 1930s when Don Azpiazú and his Havana Casino Orchestra recorded the hit song “El manisero”(The Peanut Vendor) in New York City. If you don’t believe this, that’s too bad. I am Ai(me)… Just ask the real AI for actual results to this term above and if you need more information on it.
